Nature, Design and I

I love nature, it makes me recreate and explore different things in life, I love the feel, the smell, the different shapes and textures of it.

 Nature  plays a HUGE role in my designs, I always add a touch of it, or something nature inspired, to everything I do. Nature reflects on the way I dress and design, the colors I wear, the fabrics I choose, the (annoying) scents that I love but my friends hate :), etc.



How about this cool oyster
shell  chandelier for your
breakfast room, sippin' on
a bloody mary sunday
morning :).





I ADORE these boxwood covered
cubes, I use them as little tables, you
can use them for the same purpose or

 as an ottoman.



I couldn't live without birdcages, birds and eggs :).
Add whimsy to any room by adding a recycled, nature
inspired wallpaper.

Bring the beach to your house,
throw a playful pillow like
this one to your chair or sofa.

I LOOOVE"manzanita branches",
I have lots of them around my house.
Make it the centerpiece of YOUR coffee
table.



Get an oversized clamshell and throw some moss
balls on it.





Transform these tree trunks into CHIC
mini stools just add a coat of white or gold
 lacquer paint, polyurethane, cut them to size (17-18' h)
and VOILA :).



FASHION MEETS DESIGN

How fashion translates to design..... "MY WAY".

The way I dress reflects who I am as a designer, my style is very easy, colorful, playful and crisp and that tranlates to TRADITIONAL CHIC WITH A TOUCH OF WHIMSY yet (green), that's the way I see it ;).

I LOVE bow ties, they are
playful yet chic, like the
fabrics I pick.

Don't be afraid of color but make sure
you use it WISELY!



I LOVE stripes, I like to use them
on EVERYTHING!

                                                     

Update your lamp shade by
adding grosgrain ribbon
around it instead of spending
lots of money on a new
one.

 




I LOVE natural fibers so almost everything I
own is made out of them.

  

I LOVE burlap, why not covering a chair with
it, or just  the cushion n' make it INTERESTING
by adding a different fabric to the rest of it.



 Add texture to your accesories...ADD SOME WHIMSY TO
YOUR PLACE.

 I LOVE adding texture to every

Whimsical, Colorful and Chic - my 3 favorite words for 2011!!!

It took me a long time to do this and share my design ideas with you, so I hope you like it..... ENJOY!!!
Don't be afraid! Add a whimsical yet playful fabric to your favorite chair (you don't have to take yourself or your furniture too seriously ;) ), but keep it simple and neutral on your bigger pieces and sofa.



Love bling??? How about this CHIC chandelier? make it the "Piece de resistance"!!!

Have an oddly shaped place??? Add a chic mirrored screen to separate one room from the other or just be random and use it to change your clothes behind.

Cute old table and DON'T FORGET THE GREENS :)

Last but not least....... AN AGED MIRROR (luuuv them)

Keep it simple, chic, add your own touch and VOILA!!!
P.S. Mix old and new pieces together! Visit estate sales, garage sales, discount furniture places, even yard sales! Trust me you can always find something interesting and different just like you and I :)
